File extension art information

Bitmap image is a file compressed by AOL (American Online). It is saved in propriety format that is not recognizable by most programs that deal with image viewing. A user can open it when it is within AOL by selecting File then Open. When saving ART files in formats that are more compatible, users should open the images with AOL file-viewer then select Save As before selecting different format. Programs that open file extension ART include Mac OS, American Online-file viewer and Window, American Online-file viewer and ACD See Photo Manager.
When using file extension ART users need to know how to open files, convert and back up. AOL mostly uses ART as client software. A propriety-image file format holds one highly compressed still image. Johnson-Grace Company developed the original compression that was acquired by AOL service. When images are converted to ART format, the images are first analyzed for the software to decide on the best compression technique to use. Initially, Internet Explorer displayed ART images. However, it is no longer able to display any ART files.
